This example is starting a small 3 phase motor on a 3 phase transfomer. This is the same as the previous example except that the motor is only single phase. The phase current is higher and the return neutral also contributes towards the voltage drop.

In this example the maximum voltage dip is 4.93% at the point of common coupling. This dosen't exceed the the maximum allowable voltage drop of 5%, but if the motor is started more than 4 times per hour table 7A.1 will have to be checked to see what the reduced allowable voltage dip is.
